Gilbert Stirling Lee - Cricket anecdote

I remember someone of our parents' generation telling me once how good a cricketer Grandad used to be. I think it might have been your Dad as, in 1955, we sat and talked on the barge in Barking Creek. Or it might have been Uncle 'A' (Craven) that same summer in Suffolk.

Anyway, I remember whoever it was saying that Grandad, if he had chosen to follow the appropriate path, would have eventually played cricket for England - he was that good.
