Thanks for the email, forwarded to me about my namesake, and the man I was named after.
I have a little more cricketing info ...
My Dad, Oliver, now late, told me that he remembered a photograph that his mother had of his father, Crichton Stirling Lee, sitting, in a team picture, with W G Grace, who was THE supreme batsman of early modern cricket, a name known to absolutely everyone who loves cricket. Unfortunately, after Crichton's early death, (when my father was 8), my grandmother decided that she could no longer bear his things being about, and burnt most of them.
I did write to 2 cricket clubs that the picture might have been of ... Barts Hospital, and a Cambridge University club whose name escapes me ... to see if I could get a copy of the photo. But no. I got a nice reply from one club saying that they could find nothing like that, and nothing from the other.
So that is 2 brothers who played reasonably high standard cricket.
Guy & I, we've both palyed cricket, Guy still does, but we are village cricketers, not classy cricketers!
